Feels like summer in NC

It's been awhile so I thought I would just send an update out to let you know what we have been up to.

We were given free tickets to the Bush Series car races by a vendor at Mike's work - Fastenal. So...we took a road trip to Virginia Speedway for the day to enjoy a nice family outing at the car races. Other than it wasn't dusty, it made me nastaligic for the motorcycle races of my childhood. The kids enjoyed themselves until they started getting tired of walking around looking at stuff and the wait for the race to start, but we had tickets to the sponsor "tent" and there was air conditioning there so we kept going back to that! Here are some pictures of the day at the races.

That Sunday, Mike decided it was too hot to stay indoors in the air conditioning so we went outside to go fishing at the pond at Mike's work. (I'm so ready for summer, can you tell?) Mike and the kids didn't catch anything, but the kids had fun playing in the water!

Yes, that is a crown on Emily's head. Who says you can't be a princess while fishing? She loves the worms and Noah was very excited about them and kept dumping the bowl of them out. That is something only Daddy cleans up!

Lastly, Emily has started T-Ball! Her team is called Lewis Tires and she is one of 3 girls on the team. So far, she seems to like it and is doing much better than she did with Soccer. Here are some pictures from her first game on Tuesday. Apparently, pink and orange do match in the 5 year old world!

We have been going rounds with colds, sinus infections, and stomach viruses between all of us and the exciting activities being enjoyed by the Shierlock's. Emily is still in children's choir at church and does Mission Friends on Wendsday nights after choir. Noah wants to play baseball and ride horses so I keep telling him when he is 5. We are just staying busy with the house and life with the kids. The chickens are getting bigger and the garden is in so we are looking forward to fresh eggs and food soon!
As always, we hope that God continues to bless all of you as He has us!
God Bless,
Gretchen, Mike, Emily, Noah, Nikki, and Elsie
