Epiphany from an almost 4 year old

On Sunday night during one of my usual trips to Emily's room to tell her to get in bed resulted in the following:

Here is the scene, I open her door (she has started shutting it so we can't see what she is doing), and there is Emily standing beside her bed watching her TV.

Me - "Emily, what are you doing?"
Emily - "Nothing, just watching my TV"
Me - "Why aren't you in bed?"
Emily - "Mom, if I lay in my bed, I might fall asleep"
Me - "yep, that's the point. Go to bed."

Just had to share. I laughed all the way back to the living room to tell Mike.
