Monday, June 23

We survived camping! OK, the camping survived us, but we had a great time. Brevard was nice and the campground was beautiful. There was a ton to do. Emily and Noah did great. We had a few difficult nights, but not too bad considering and it was cold a couple of mornings, so I'm sure that was the biggest culprit.

Emily went fishing for the first time. She liked it until the fish actually bit her line, then it started wiggling and Mike had to take over. She was putting the fish (in the bucket after being caught) in time out for scaring her. It was pretty funny! She says she loves fishing now though so I guess it wasn't too bad. She wouldn't eat it for dinner, but we did and yummy, were those rainbow trout good!

Emily even slept on a cot in the tent. She only got up the first night once, and then slept like a rock the other nights! Go figure.

Noah did not like the cold water of Davidson river, but Emily went "tubing" for a couple little trips down into Daddy's arms. She thought it was really funny when Mommy did it! Noah loved all the stuff there was to see and seems to be a future camper himself. I think watching Daddy build the fire was the most fun for him.

We made it home safe and sound on Sunday, but tired and still tired today. So, back to the grindstone and school and work. UGH. Happy Monday!
